We're excited to welcome you to our classes focused on small, traditional wooden boats. Right now we are offering Traditional Wooden Boat Sailing, with more classes to come.
Our classes are offered in partnership with the Sausalito Parks & Recreation Department. Click here to view availability and enroll.
Our Sailing Summer Camp is designed for children ages 10 to 14 who are eager to learn how to sail small boats. Campers will gain a strong foundation in sailing fundamentals while prioritizing safety and having fun on the water.
In addition to hands-on sailing instruction, campers will enjoy games and interactive lessons covering maritime history, local marine life, weather patterns, and traditional boat construction. No prior sailing experience is required; however, participants should feel comfortable being in and around the water.
Campers should bring a bag lunch, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Snacks and all other equipment will be provided.
Scholarships are available for Marin families, on a rolling basis, for those that qualify as low income (or less) on the Marin Housing guidelines. If your family does not qualify under income guidelines but have special circumstances and are in need we encourage you to apply and outline those circumstances.

Note: The Charlie Merrill is a narrow vessel, and boarding or disembarking requires a degree of balance and coordination. At times, participants may also need to move quickly from one side of the boat to the other. If you have an injury or mobility limitations, this vessel may not be the best fit for instruction. However, we are happy to work with you to explore suitable alternatives. Please contact us to discuss your needs, and we will do our best to help you get on the water.
